Latham Music began in 1992 as a publisher of cello ensembles and now maintains one of the largest collections of cello music in the world, including many written in jazz, rock, blues, and Latin styles. In addition, the catalog is filled with solos and ensembles for violin, viola, and string bass along with string quartets, string orchestra arrangements, and “gig” music for professionals. Contributors to the catalog include founder and Executive Editor, Lynne Latham, along with Shirl Jae Atwell, Lee Burswold, Edward M. Caner, Philip Clarke, Catherine McMichael, Carole Rabinowitz, Anne Svendsen, and Ed Zunic. The Latham catalog became a Lorenz company in May 2007.

Lynne Latham has earned a B.M. (1983) and M.M. (1985) in cello performance from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. Her teachers have included Elizabeth Potteiger, Karen Andrie, Haden McKay, Steven Shumway, Ronald Crutcher, and Johanne Perron. She currently maintains a private studio of violin, viola, and cello students in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area. Ms. Latham is a frequent freelance performer and a former member of the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra. She has served as a clinician for Cello Day Festivals in Virginia, Ohio, South Carolina, Georgia and California. She has been adjunct faculty at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC, teaching string methods and applied music studies. Ms. Latham is a past-president of NC ASTA with NSOA.
