Douglas Smith

Douglas Smith received his B.B. from Carson‑Newman College in 1961, his M.M.E. from The University of North Texas in 1964, and his D.M.A. from the University of Michigan in 1968. He has taught at Everett High School, Maryville, Tennessee (1961–1963), The University of North Texas (1965–1967), The Dallas Baptist University (1969–1975), and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1975 to the present.

Douglas Smith has published numerous flexible instrumental works with Lorenz for woodwinds, brass, and strings. He has led performances, clinics, and workshops at Glorieta, Ridgecrest, four seminaries, seventeen colleges and universities, and churches in twenty‑one states, Mexico, Trinidad, South Africa, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and five European countires.
