Various, Eugene McCluskey
"Thou shalt never, NEVER play a bright and joyful prelude or one that is louder than mp! WHOA! Who ever said that? Moses? Well, we don't know for certain if anyone actually ever said it, but it's a common misconception held by many organists nonetheless. Preludes don't always have to be soft and meditative. If you are in this rut, surprise the congregation (and yourself!) by playing one of these "roof-raisers" every two or three weeks. The first time you do it, some may think you've played the postlude by mistake, but that's OK -- they'll like it! Here are sixteen well-crafted, but Easy settings of familiar hymns of praise, which will be useful not only as preludes, but also as festive offertories or postludes. The music is printed on two staves, each selection is timed, and registrations are provided for pipe, electronic, and Hammond organs.
