Stephen L Aber

Stephen L. Aber (b. 1988) has been serving religious, educational, and nonprofit institutions in various roles since 2004. His titles have included pianist, organist, staff accompanist, music associate, office manager, operations manager, and adjunct professor. He is an alumnus of Baylor and Belmont Universities and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in organ performance and choral conducting. While at Baylor, Stephen studied organ and improvisation with Joyce Jones and Bradley Welch and served Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. In Nashville, Stephen spent time at West End United Methodist Church, Brentwood United Methodist Church, and Two Rivers Baptist Church before joining the staff at First Baptist Nashville. After completing two degrees, studying with Andrew Risinger and Jeffery L. Ames, he joined the faculty at Belmont University as a piano professor and university accompanist. Working his way back to his home state of North Carolina, Stephen spent time as Music Associate and Organist at Central Baptist Bearden in Knoxville, Tennessee and also took courses in Theology at Carson Newman University and Fuller Theological Seminary. In 2015, Stephen joined the music staff of Hayes Barton United Methodist Church, the Raleigh Boychoir, and the North Carolina Master Chorale.
